About Abu Dhabi |
![]() Welcome
to Abu Dhabi.
Hospitality lies at the heart of Arab culture. Just as the Bedouin would once
offer food and shelter to strangers in the desert, visitors today will
experience a welcome unmatched anywhere else, from the traditional serving of
Arabic coffee to an absolute dedication to the highest standards of modern
service. Part of Abu Dhabi's
unique charm is the blend of ancient and modern. Traditions, some of them
little changed from the 19th century, coexist with a 21st
century economy and lifestyle; a juxtaposition that lies at the heart of modern
society. Old world courtesies still prevail and traditional culture is very
much alive.
Beauty Vision will be hosted & held in the brand new Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre between 3 - 5 Feb 2009. The city with its rapid economic growth and diversification program to move towards sustainable long-term growth, remains the largest contributor to the UAE's state budget and the economy is clearly set to remain in great health for some time to come. Abu Dhabi is not only the capital city of the UAE, but also the richest city in the world. Although it was planned only in the 1970's, it has achieved a remarkable cultural hub including world-class museums including the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Guggenheim Museum Abu Dhabi and the Sheikh Zayed National Museum, like pearls in the desert. Abu Dhabi is set on increasing its standing as a major world capitol on various levels - business, economy, culture & tourism. Strategically located at the epicenter of one of the worlds greatest & most dynamic trading regions, Abu Dhabi naturally acts as a portal to the rest of the Middle East, Asia, India, North Africa & Europe. With its 2006 GDP per capita of Abu Dhabi being ranked the highest in the world at US$46,147, home to 9,2% of World's oil reserves plus 4% of natural gas, it is no doubt that Abu Dhabi has been Dubbed "world's richest city" by CNN Fortune. As such, Abu Dhabi provides a consistently fertile environment for investment. The varied expatriate community has influenced the manufacturing and retail market to a large extent. With large malls including retail outlets aimed at locals as well as popular English, American and Canadian chain stores, many aimed at the high-end market, the scope for the local and tourist retail attraction is enormous.
Abu Dhabi Tourist Authority is currently targeting to attract 3 million tourists by 2015 in by way of launching and implementation of ambitious and aggressive five year plan running between 2008 and 2012 with its main aim to strengthen Abu Dhabi as the a leading destination for the tourists, investing $10billion into hotels and tourism over the next decade. Currently ranked on the top ten list of the popular website Expedia.co.uk's top holiday destinations, it is clear this aim will be easily attainable. As part of this plan is the current expansion and development in terms of infrastructure development projects ranging from development entire new suburb developments, Island developments, redevelopment of the Port area Abu Dhabi and a surge in luxury hotel and spa developments. The largest of the Emirates, Abu Dhabi also boasts over 700km of coastline and 200 natural islands. It is crime-free and safe for holidaymakers and businesspersons alike, making it the perfect environment for its new status as top travel and business destination. Abu Dhabi also services more flights between the rest of the Middle East than its neighboring Emirate Dubai. Abu Dhabi International Airport is investing US$6 billion in development targeting to raise airport capacity to 20 million passengers by 2010 and 50 million by the end of the project. With facts like these, it is hardly surprising that the national carrier of the UAE, Etidhad airlines which is based in Abu Dhabi, portrayed a phenomenal 67% growth in 2007. Abu Dhabi is furthermore striving to position and establish itself as a world-class cultural hub, hosting the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, the Louvre Abu Dhabi, a performing arts centre, a maritime museum and the Sheikh Zayed National Museum. The quest for beauty and sensuality which Beauty Vision would love to expose, can be followed in this vibrant, rich and varied city with its multi-cultured society. |
